Flapjack
Ingredients / components
125g ( 4oz) margarine, 50g (2oz) brown sugar,
2x 15ml (2 tbsp ) Clear honey / golden syrup
175g ( 6oz) rolled oats, 25g (1oz) dried fruit.
Equipment
1x 18cm 7” square cake tin, Vegetable knife, chopping board, saucepan, tablespoon, wooden spoon.
Method / process
Use different sets of scales to measure out all the ingredients. Work in pairs to check each other’s accuracy.
Switch on oven to gas 5 / 190ºC , grease and line cake tin.
Put honey, sugar and margarine in pan and heat gently . Once melted switch off hob and leave to cool .
Ad rest of ingredients to the pan and mix thoroughly.
Spoon into prepared tin level with a fork.
Bake until golden brown for 20-25 minutes
When baked, mark into squares using a table knife, cool in the tin.
